Dr. Barry M. Gregory, M.Ed. Ed.D. LMHC NCC
Dr. Gregory is the executive director of the National Addictions Training Institute and the South Florida Center for Cognitive-Behavior Therapy. He is a licensed mental health counselor in Florida as well as a recognized national board certified counselor. Dr. Gregory maintains a national training, consulting, and counseling practice in Boynton Beach, Florida and is well known for his “interactive evidence-based cognitive-behavior therapy training workshops”. Dr, Gregory’s expertise in using cognitive-behavior therapy to help individuals and families makes him a prime candidate for administering expertise here at Treatment Alternatives.
His published doctoral dissertation tested the effectiveness of using brief motivational and cognitive-behavioral skills to build strategies with student athletes in order to reduce high-risk drinking and other harmful behavior. Dr. Gregory has served as a faculty member in counselor education, and assistant director and researcher at a university counseling center, and as an associate dean at a private university. He has presented his research findings at national conferences, published white papers, and authored two early intervention manuals for college students and served on community and state coalitions. Recently, Dr. Gregory appeared in an MSNBC documentary on college high-risk drinking.
